We loved our stay in our cosy little ensuite! Very cosy bed and everything else you need! Audrey is a very nice and kind host and the breakfast was also very delicious! We will definitely come back!!!!!
Crail is a great place to stay and Audrey and Alan's B&B provided very comfortable beds and very modern ensuites. Breakfast was great. Audrey and Alan very hospitable and helpful. Very quiet and peaceful - sea view too.
My husband and I have toured Scotland on various occasions before and can thus make an objective statement as to the quality of family-run B&Bs. Colstoncraig and its lovely, charming and most hospitable, warm-hearted owners, Audrey and Alan are clearly on the top of the list of the B&Bs throughout the UK that we can truly and thoroughly recommend to the most discerning guests. The comfortable, spacious and most tastefully furnished twin-room we stayed in for three nights was of first-rate quality. Upon our arrival, the pleasant and open-minded Audrey gave us a cordial welcome and was very helpful in recommending a few rewarding tourist sights in the area.
While she was away for the weekend in Newcastle with her colleagues, her husband Alan looked after us and cooked us a delicious and tasty breakfast. We had some nice and entertaining chats with him over breakfast and he was extremely hospitable and really went out of his way to accommodate and anticipate all our needs. A man of many talents, a great sense of humour and genuine kindness, he has a wealth of knowledge about the local fishery industry and we learned many interesting stories and facts from him. To put all things in a nutshell:
We strongly recommend this place and will be back ourselves if we decide to visit East Neuk again, in particular Pittenweem, Alan´s birthplace! Our best wishes and thanks for giving us such a wonderful time! Regine and Manfred from near Cologne in Germany.
First of all - visit Crail. That's a must when in Scotland. So lovely and calm village! Second - we have visited Audrey and Alan in 2011 and promised to leave a comment. Never did it here (SORRY) but have done this many times verbally since that time. And as promised - now also here. So, thank you Audrey and thank you Alan for friendly atmosphere, perfect breakfast, nice chats, sense of humour and really great stay in Colstoncraig. Dear All - if you need all above plus clean and comfortable rooms, nice view at the Puffin's home island, and good advice from A&A, you should definitely choose that B&B :-)
